    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Macquarie Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A very high performance culture, you are expected to perform to your best at all times but you can also expect the same of others. KPI's and reporting lines are very clear and review processes are thorough.

    Cons

Very difficult to move roles, especially between departments. Quality of work life depends a lot on your manager. Career progression depends a lot on relationships you make, and social categories you fit into, rather than always being competence based. It can be difficult to approach staff or managers from other teams for assistance as workloads are high.

    Advice to Management

In my time at Macquarie, all of the best staff left and the average performers remained. There are countless career opportunities for your employees to advance into, so there is no excuse for this happening. You should do more to recognise the potential of your staff and nurture their career, especially for high performers.
