I worked at Macquarie Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Awesome co-workers, latest tech stack

    Cons

Compensation may not be the best if you are in tech, still not the lowest. I just hope they hike the perm salaries a little bit up or give higher bonuses to the tech people compared to the business teams

I have been working at Macquarie Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great engineering culture, business are willing to listen to engineers opinion. Encourage exploration of new technologies. Good pay compared to most industry and company. Great flexibility. You can work any time as long you do your task. No question asked when you want to work from home occasionally. Professional colleagues, focused on task, capable and smart. Office is not bad. Often lots free food and drinks at meetings and events.

    Cons

A lot of contractors so a lot of people movement. No transparent pay structure, profit share portion disclosure. Competitive career promotion. Not many practical perks.

I have been working at Macquarie Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The perks are ok, the money is good.

    Cons

If you are hired as a "developer" be prepared to ignore the language you were hired for, don't come here(Sydney) if you actually want to progress as a developer and learn more about your language. You'll either work on poorly written legacy code or sql, neither of which are appealing to any backend developer. Make sure you read the fine print and lesser mentioned parts of your job description before you sign a contract because that's what you'll be doing 90% of your time. I have never heard of a place where a developer doesn't use their IDE for four months straight.

I worked at Macquarie Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice environment, free break fast, beautiful buildings to work in.

    Cons

Can't stress the politics around managers. They are horrible and think they are God. Agree not all of them are like this but most of them are.
