I worked at Madame Tussaud's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved working at Madame Tussauds. It is a good summer job for high school and college students. Being a museum the hours aren't crazy and you're paid more than minimum wage. You are also eligible for discounts at other Merlin owned properties. If you stay long enough there are opportunities to be transferred or move up in the company.

    Cons

Off season times (fall, winter, spring) can get boring and hours are reduced. As with any company, some managers are not the best. Walking through the museum when there is no one else around can get be creepy at times.

The magic passes that give you access to quite a lot places worldwide under Merlins and the wonderful colleagues

    Cons

Very judgmental management they judge you based on your character not work performance. Promotion path is virtually unobtainable and it's very very slow process only the selected are nominated otherwise forget it. Management between managers varies from very good to borderline and mediocre Dated equipments with no clear direction for a foreseeable future and a very turnover rates within 4 years of opening and the...

I have been working at Madame Tussaud's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free entries into Merlin Attractions, flexible scheduling, no prior work experience needed. The Studios team is friendly and more than happy to answer questions about the work they do.

    Cons

No real leadership, there are managers but not much in regards to mentoring or guidance. If you are a favorite, you can pretty much get away with anything but being caught stealing. Higher ups treat you like you are stupid and incapable of doing anything but the very basics of your job. And your job, it will change, but not usually for the better. Training is a joke, no manuals, no onboarding or eLearning....

    Advice to Management

Have one on one sit downs with ALL the people who work under you. Regularly. If you want happy, productive workers, talk to them. Don't keep going on about , "If you don't like it, leave and find some other $9 an hour job." Everyone is too scared to say anything against management because they don't want to upset anyone or be fired.

      I worked at Madame Tussaud's part-time

      Pros

      - discounted food - free tickets

      Cons

      - management and HR play favorites on who gets away with infractions and who doesnt - multiple parts of the museum is malfunctioning and management refuses to fix it, instead they put money into useless projects - nepotism - coworkers (not all) will shun you if you are not into trap rap music and the latest trends

      Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism and renovate the museum.

I have been working at Madame Tussaud's part-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

This place has cool people working here and I love them so much.

      Cons

They don’t fix anything. The pay is crappy. People always call out. Management spends a butt load of money on projects they think are going to get them more money and ignore glaring issues. One of our main bosses has no clue what he is doing half the time because he has never been an employee so half the time I catch him just wondering around the mueseum clueless.
