Allot of challenges. OK pay and bonus. No time for innovation just work.

    Pros

Pay and bonus are ok. But only if you are hired into Maxim as SMTS from another company. Internal promotions are lower even though internally promoted engineers have more experience and knowledge. It takes a SMTS a year to come up to speed. Some time never coming up to speed.

    Cons

Allot of work with unrealistic expectation to complete that work. Not much time to innovate, just time to get the work load complete. After 4-5 projects (5-7 years) that work gets really repetitive.

Hard work, but learned a lot

    Pros

There is a lot of work. You are always busy. Learned alot, everyone is helpful. OK compensation and health benefits. Interesting products, nice building, nice work place.

    Cons

Some engineers are not competent. No free food, pay is not that great, goes down every year, RSU aware goes down every year, bonus comes down every year, revenue falls every year. Good guys leave, bad guys stay. Some managers just want to do nothing, but move their lips.

intense work environment and lean workforce makes for a challenging place to work.

    Pros

Flexible work hours, exposure to many different products, and an intense work environment make for a challenging place to work. Interaction with customers all over the world provide valuable experience in working with different cultures and provide some opportunities for international travel. A 401(k) matching program helps with saving for retirement. Good health care and dental care benefits, and subsidized gym membership are additional perks. Opportunities for advancement within the company exist, and it is relatively easy to change positions within the company if desired. Flexible working hours (within reason, of course) allow employees to avoid peak rush hour. Prior to de-listing, an employee stock purchase program gave employees the chance to purchase company stock at a discount.

    Cons

An intense work environment and long hours contributes to an imbalance between work and personal life. A lean workforce can lead to burnout. Political infighting impedes progress and sometimes prevents the development of new products that could help grow sales. Nepotism is rampant in some groups, and prior to the former CEOs departure, on the board as well. An ongoing delisting and attempted restatement has dragged on for far too long, and provides needless distraction from growing the business. Too much dead weight exists in some groups, and other groups operate far too lean. Senior management seem to be more concerned with enriching themselves, rather than doing things to benefit all shareholders, including employees who may have stock options and RSUs.

    Sinking boat..

    Pros

I have made my lifelong friends here and worked with some great smart engineers. Fast paced with lots of interesting technologies to learn.

    Cons

-Very difficult to motivate yourself to work under very vague directions by upper management. -Used to be an engineering driven company but it has changed under Tunc. Too many project managers who don't have a clue and only listens to BMs with unrealistic schedules to achieve. -They won't fire you directly but they will indirectly humiliate you publicly by lowering your job title and give you an impossible project to complete. -Employees are just numbers. -Very unstable for a long term career. -Constant layoffs and shutdowns.
