I worked at McDonald's full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent staff benefits. The people you work with are generally what makes the job passable.

    Cons

Long hours Many unpaid hours as a manager, was told "we don't want you working overtime" on paper but in practice forced you to do overtime or get fired. Customers were all crap. Always understaffed. Cutting costs was most important thing, even if it meant affecting the end product. Bad work/life balance. If you're thinking of management for a career, go somewhere else. If you're thinking of management for a... little while to get references to get a better job, its alright.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to what happens in your stores. In Australia we basically have one check up per year from head office, which is booked in. You need to actually visit the stores and see for yourself a legit version of the store during day to day business, as it is full of people cutting corners with food safety and workplace safety.
