    Pros

Huge learning opportunities - possible to try a lot of different functions and industries Comparable salaries - salaries are based on local benchmarking so there might be big differences between offices, but they are always top level in the respective country Great benefits - good private insurance, very nice office locations, most work-related costs are reimbursable (meals, travel, hotel, etc) and limits are quite generous Inspiring colleagues - colleagues are in most cases inspiring, even a bit uncomfortably with usually being exceptionally successful throughout their lives (living abroad, completing the best education, investing or venturing successfully very early in their career, etc) C-level exposure - you can meet with executives on a daily basis, which might be quite exciting for some people Internal opportunities - there are a lot of internal initiatives which you can exploit to learn or deep-dive into your preferred industry/function Great support - there are a lot of teams supporting the work of the client-facing team, improving the quality of the outputs by magnitudes

    Cons

Powerpoint maniacs- ppt is the main way of communication, occasionally overused Work-life balance - working hours are long, but usually flexible to a certain point (there are opportunities transferring out of the consulting arm as well in case your life situation changes Tenure-focus - while the company is famous for having a flat hierarchy in the project teams, lower tenured colleagues might not receive enough leadership exposure or responsibilities Clash between old school & new wave consulting - old-style consultants often focus on appearances, strict rules and financial results, but there is a new wave in most offices focusing more on shared value creation, innovation and more relaxed rules Staffing - you have to build out your own network in the area you are interested in to get the right staffing opportunities; which is impossible in the first year
