      Pros

Smart people Great benefits Interesting client work

      Cons

The Firm is not at all what it used to be. It’s living off the prestige it has earned in the 80s and 90s. There is something seriously wrong with the culture and values at the firm in recent years and I’m increasingly embarrassed to work here. Many folks here try to justify the atrocities we’ve committed by pretending that other firms supposedly do the same but that’s just delusional and arrogant. Our “CEO” objectively went to jail, Enron is not a fabrication of the NYT, etc. These are incidents that didn’t came to light because we were involved but only because they were criminal. It really really hurts to say that, but if I’d have the choice, I wouldn’t choose McKinsey over other competitors again.

      Pros

Smart people, challenging work, variety of industries (relative to the rest of the pack)

Consulting hours are long, promotions not as quick as other parts of the world (true for the other consulting companies in the region as well)

      Pros

We work with the most ambitious and smart people (nothing is impossible), gain diverse experience. As a designer have high impact as we work directly with c-suite, and you work as a "full stack designer" - from setting business strategy through customer and market research to implementing solutions (designing and developing) and consulting on hiring design professionals to our clients (e.g. chief design officer). It also gives you the leadership skillset and sets you up for success after McKinsey.

      Cons

Fast passed environment, exhausting, lack of focus on social and ecological problems (but slowly getting better on this front, so staying hopeful), lack of diversity in leadership possitions
