Pros

Medtronic is a fantastic company to work for. I can say with true clarity that my time there was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career to date. They have a great culture within the company and promote personal growth. They recognise and reward hard work and are lenient and understanding when it comes to work/life balance. I was employed under contract for 1year however was unfortunately not given the opportunity to extend this (this is due to extreme personal circumstances for me and had this not been the case I would have been offered full-time employment along with the benefits that come with it) Perform beyond others expectations and your own boundaries and you will quickly advance in not only your career but also your pay grade. Another bonus is the health insurance you receive as a full-time employee. All in all one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of working for.

Cons

Management seemed to be hired from outside the company itself. I believe this to be due to a merger at the time and the seeming instability of some roles. I cannot comment on current circumstances however I do believe that the merger has been completed since my leaving the company.

Great focus on the mission of helping others through medical technology. Senior leadership is fantastic- very focused on work/life balance and taking care of employees and patients alike.

Cons

Middle management doesn’t share the views of senior management on work life balance. They say the words because they are forced to, but their actions and the underlying tone is clear- if you put family or personal life before work priorities it will be held against you.
