I worked at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits Good training opportunities Great work/life balance Excellent IT Help Desk support internally

    Cons

Arbitrary promotion criteria. No one is held accountable for anything. Old guard of management needs to go, they are far too old school and hold everyone back. Mid level management has 0 communication with top level on issues/challenges/constraints. Mid level tells upper level that everything is all well when there’s a dumpster fire on the ground floor. C suite too far disconnected from operations in non-home office areas. Analytics is criminally underutilized in this organization largely due to incompetent leadership over that group. Top performers are perceived as threats to mid level management and held back from advancement until they’ve “done their time”. Actual experts aren’t consulted on solutions. One manager in particular hired his nephew, told no one they were related, and let go critical resources due to pandemic while retaining his nephew who contributes nothing to organization. Entire IT organization operates purely on group think. Fresh ideas are not allowed, the strategy from the top is to innovate but the strategy actually executed is to maintain status quo.

    Cons

You have to kiss butt to adavance! They are bias and the managers are always trying to belittle the phone reps! Management pretend to care about work life balance but they don’t, favoritism to certain reps with work schedule when you are next in line for shift change! You are just a number they will replace you with a contractor quick!
