I worked at Motorola Solutions full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great benefits with very good work life balance. Used to be a very good company to work for. Annual bonus was very good. Work environment was excellent.

    Cons

Over the years the quality of new hires has decreased. Layoffs were more frequent than one would like. Employees did not feel that they had job security anymore.

I worked at Motorola Solutions full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The job was interesting and my coworkers in my area were great. Benefits were pretty decent for companies these days.

    Cons

So obvious that jobs in my department are being eliminated and moved to low cost centers overseas. Sneaky layoff tactics, fake meetings, no warning given by immediate management. No job security even if you are an excellent employee. Just layoff and hire more workers (2 or 3 for the cost of one employee in the U.S.).

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Motorola Solutions full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Consistently one of the top players in many of the industries we do business in. Investing in new acquisitions to enhance our competitive position in the dispatch marketplace. Long term employees are passionate about their work.

    Cons

Management is cutting too many people with experience, thinking they can replace them with cheaper new hires. No sense of job security even when the company seems to be doing well. Too much reorganization.

I worked at Motorola Solutions full-time

    Pros

Tremendous opportunity to to make a difference at the lower organizational levels. Employees who have earned the trust of their management are granted broad autonomy.

    Cons

Constant restructuring creates job security concerns for those sensitive to this. A lot of initiative is expected of new hires to understand their role and responsibilities. With the right candidates this is a benefit, but for those needing a little more guidance it can be a challenge.

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Motorola used to care about their employees, good benefits including healthcare and vacation time. In the public safety business there was purpose to the work, protecting the first responders with rock solid communication.

    Cons

Now there is no job security, layoffs happen every quarter. Land Mobile Radio business market is shrinking leading to cutting of costs. Jobs are moving overseas to low cost centers. Many of the good people are leaving and not being replaced, making those left behind to try and pick up the pieces.

I have been working at Motorola Solutions for more than a year

    Pros

Great team to work with, managers trust employees to know the job and get it done. Flexibility to manage life and work together.

    Cons

Contractors are hours paid for hours worked, no paid holidays, no PTO, no benefits. Very little opportunity for advancement. Company is in downsizing mode, relocating positions to other locations in US and abroad. Job security is tenuous.

    Pros

The opportunity to learn new technologies in a ever growing digital communication systems are tremendous. Working in the governments division, has given me the ability to understand the various systems.

    Cons

As the demand of the business grows from quarter to quarter, the pressures increase on the individuals to handle multiple systems to be completed by end of the quarter. Job security is a very big concern, due to the ever increasing of company restructering.
