Rapidly downsizing, gender diversity out of control

      Pros

Excellent focus on business outcomes - a legacy of CEO Bill Morrow Excellent business processes Good use of technology Competent management

      Cons

Gender diversity targets have been taken to extreme levels - men are actively discriminated against and have far fewer career opportunities. The business is downsizing rapidly so job security is very low. Constant restructures - leads to uncertainty. Favoritism, cronyism and nepotism are rife. All the way to the top.

      Pros

I am only providing my inputs for nbn Pitt St, Sydney. I love the location. Great environment, great wok culture, no pressure (in my department). They allow work from home arrangements for all employment types. The flexibility options are very good. The pay is good for casual contracting. I'm simply impressed with the work culture They usually give 1 month notice if there is no contract extension.

      Cons

Job security, there are cuts all the time!! They are only offering fixed term contract for 2 years - That is like a contract job with permanent pay with no other benefits than the leave loading.

      Great people, crap leaders.

      Pros

Great people (peers not bosses), great environment, and flexible working hours.

      Cons

Way too many people in management positions who offer absolutely zero value to this roll out, yet the people who actually do the work get the unfortunate feeling of job uncertainty. Because of poor leadership, crap foresight or insight on actually what's going on the front line, spending money on useless staff, it's an extremely unstable environment where, at any moment, you can be out of a job at any moment. NBN does not offer any job security for employees, in fact, employees I worked with have experienced this anxiety because of the uncertainty they can potentially be out of work at any moment.

      Miserable environment

      Pros

Some managers are trying, they really are

      Cons

Being the most hated company in Australia is having an effect. More than that, though, there is a real morale issue with lack of job security. Most employees won't have a job in a few years, and everyone knows it. Redundancies are very high, but are soon to explode. Everyone has an eye on the door, hoping they can leave on their terms, not nbn's.

      Pros

Salary --- check!, work flexibility --- check!

      Cons

No job security. A lot of movements within the organisation. You always start building new relationships as in a year or less you will have new boss and new mates again.
