I worked at National Australia Bank full-time

    Pros

Flexibility of working hours and location.

    Cons

Worst technology I have ever seen in any financial institution, ridiculous processes and procedures surrounding same. Terrible risk and compliance framework which is open to manipulation. A shocking culture of "don't ask, just do" which most banks got rid of several years ago - NAB is making no effort to change this A massive emphasis on productivity over quality (ie. the dodgiest lending I've ever seen approved anywhere...). Who needs that crazy NCCP Act anyway?? I just can't begin to describe how terrible my experience with this dodgiest of dodgy organisation was.

I worked at National Australia Bank for less than a year

    Pros

NAB had really good formal processes for project governance. The way projects were awarded funding and the oversight protocols were excellent. One would really have to work hard to do a bad job, the structures were all in place to support good project disclipine

    Cons

Some areas were overly "personality" centric, I wouldn't want to say led by bullies, but heading that way. You had the sense you had to be like and be liked by certain managers to get things done.

    Pros

The people that you worked with made the role bearable, nice new offices in the CBD.

    Cons

No support, lack of training, increasing number of disgruntle staff, managements mandate of doing more with less.
