I have been working at National Australia Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good location, close to the city center. Get exposure to many different sides of the business, which provides a broader understanding of what other roles are available.

    Cons

Hard to concentrate on actual work as there's an understanding that it's less important than the office politics. Unethical. Accepted racism. Not a meritocracy at all. Filled with incompetent people protecting each other.

I worked at National Australia Bank

    Pros

*Diverse culture *Very positive about work/life balance

    Cons

The Reward & Bonus system is horrendous. As your overall score has a whole of NAB component, you personally can perform well but still get an average score if the NAB Enterprise as a whole didn't hit its targets. To make matters worse, even if you did get a good score you then have to depend on the bank giving a decent multiple. EG: A score of 5A is the highest you can get and you would expect a bonus of approx 3 times the norm. However if the bank decides the multiple is 0.5 your bonus becomes 1.5 (3x0.5) the norm. And there have even been instances of the multiple being zero meaning a 5A performer gets 3 times 0, ie nothing. *If you enter the bank on low pay it will take you forever to get a decent wage as they generally only give wage increases in the form of % and not on the job you are doing. *Red tape. Takes forever to get anything done

I have been working at National Australia Bank full-time

    Pros

Nab is a great place to work for its flexibility and diversity in support of women

    Cons

Nab was a great place to work a couple of years back and especially in wholesale banking. It is now a place full of politics, lack of accountability and is not a high performing organisation. Pay is also on the downside and not competitive in the market.
