Way too much stress

Pros

- talented team with wonderful easy-going people - healthy free lunch - nice office in Amsterdam - good Scrum (at times)

Cons

- inflexible work hours - constant tension and pressure - zero opportunities for self development - extreme micro-management - work culture based on blame and finger pointing - taking days off is always a battle

Pros

HR is one of the best I've ever met.

Cons

- CEO treats people like cattle, he wants dev team to overdeliver, aiming on unrealistic deadlines, like deliver no less than 150 tickets in 10 days for the team of 10 people. You can imagine the quality of that product. - Company pays less money than average market price to engineers. - Low failure tolerance: if the bug is caught, CEO(John Scully) has a tendency to blame dev team regularly calling them unprofessional - No career growth - Hotfix-based development - Culture based on unhealthy and rival relationships between teams.

Pros

- International environment with amazing people - Good product

- Very terrible management coming from the CEO. No one has a say in the company asides from him. He doesn't listen to anyone and he feels his ideas are the best - People work overtime, late at night, and even on weekends without getting paid for it. CEO expects everyone to overdeliver - As a product designer, user research and user testing are key in my design process but the CEO disapproves of it and says we are smart enough to use our head. How are we supposed to know the issues users face without proper testing?? - Everyone complains about the stress and I can bet that more than 85% of the staff are not happy. Everyone seems moody except on a few occasions. - There is a 2-month probationary period but there is no yardstick to measure if one passed or failed. All the staff hired between June and August all left the company because they didn't pass the probationary period. Doesn't this mean that something isn't right somewhere???? - CEO promises something then goes silent on it. He breached a lot of agreements and this led to a high turnover rate. A lot of people leave the company after spending a few weeks/months. About 10 people left in about 2 months if I'm not mistaken. - CEO never accepts that he is wrong. He is always right and every other person is wrong. He will make you feel like you aren't doing your best. He expects magic from you. You start wondering if something is wrong with you or you aren't good enough
