I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I was given many opportunities to try new things, grow & challenge myself in new roles and I had many support system and guide around me to be able to excel in the new opportunities.

    Cons

The differing culture in different departments/functions/factories due to very varied management principles being applied/allowed can be quite jarring.

    Advice to Management

It is difficult to manage teams that are spread out and have rare opportunity to meet and check in on their work. This is where I hope HR can step up to support the higher ups to see what is happening at the grass root level where value is actually being converted.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Focused on improving consumer health through better nutrition, portion control & convenient packaging options.

    - Upto 12.5% super annuation, severance pay, performance bonus and competitive pay.

    - Majority of line managers are open, supportive and encourages continuous learning and development, highlights errors on time without putting you on the spotlight and provides timely improvement suggestions.

    - With so many leading brands such as Nespresso, Uncle Tobys, Maggi, Nescafe, Purina, KitKat, Nan Ha you have massive opportunity for networking and growth opportunities.

-Digital space for Nestle is growing and there will be more employment opportunities in this space.

    - New policy focused on getting the work done rather than where and what time the work needs to be done. If you are a parent where there is a demand to look after your kids; Nestle is a great place to work as you can work from home as required , agreeing with your line manager.

    Cons

    - Heavily process driven organization, most of your day would be spent in compliance and regulations and not much creativity. You are a small player in grand scheme and chances of making an impact and being noticed is very slim.
    - Currently very focused in hiring younger Millennials
    - Would prefer candidates with pay cuts than experienced ones who is more expensive.

    Advice to Management

    - Please retain experienced staff and move them around within business.
    - Please look at internal staff development objectives and give them opportunity to move up prior to hiring staff from the recruitment agencies.

    Doesn't Recommend

    I worked at Nestlé part-time

    Pros

It was a self-managed role, with a globally well known brand

    Cons

The role was monotonous, slow, and repetitive. It had very little incentives to working efficiently.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so rigid in your allocation of work, tracking, and expectations.

    I worked at Nestlé full-time

    Pros

Family feel, great being part of an iconic brand, working outside of APAC is fantastic

    Cons

High pressure in the last few years in the APAC region in the IT regional HUBs. Very lean org, long working hours, lack of good leaders. Work life balance is poore.

    Advice to Management

Get more managers over from Europe to reinforce the cultural and family/people values.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the top companies which offers diverse career progression opportunities.

    Cons

Working culture "to get things done" can be quite slow.
Some GLOBE low/mid-level leads/managers are tyre kickers/under-performers, yet progress within the company. In essence, it is a reflection of the leads/managers situated the next level up.
