I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nestle provides an open and inclusive environment that provides accelerated career growth opportunities, excellent work life balance & flexibility, and the ability to impact business results quickly. The Cleveland Campus in particular has experienced a tremendous of growth in the last 1.5 years, providing a lot of opportunities for both internal and external candidates. I am so excited to see all the growth that has happened for our campus, company & our people!

    Cons

Nestle is undergoing a great deal of change at the moment that requires all of us to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. For some they thrive in this type of atmosphere, while others can find it frustrating and daunting.

I worked at Nestlé USA full-time

    Pros

The key to Nestle's success is its people. Nestle hires the best and most talented people, who are both dedicated and passionate.

    Cons

New-hire training process in relation to the role. Initially you receive an abundance of training on the Nestle brand and the organization's policies/procedures but little to no training on your role itself. Starting a new job is stressful enough but having no formal training made it more stressful, particularly in an organization as large as Nestle. There will always be things that you will learn as you go and every role will have its own nuances but having a formalized training process on their systems, tools/resources available would make the transition into a new role/company much easier for any new hire.

    Advice to Management

Assign an experienced mentor to all new hires and also institute that H/R schedule a 30/60-day brief meeting to check in with new hires, which will allow them the opportunity to talk/address any concerns.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nestlé offers a lot to their employees not only via discounts and offerings but also via training and support. As a newer employee I feel supported by my team, manager and department. I feel as though I fully understand the mission and goals of not only team but our impact on Nestlé USA.

    Cons

Sometimes cross functional help or data is hard to get but that is a large company issue not a Nestlé USA issue.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what is being done. The 1-1 and team meetings with as much transparency as possible make employees more willing to go the extra mile.

I worked at Nestlé USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Collaborative, supportive culture. Open workplace environment at the new HQ in Arlington that promotes employee engagement. Great benefits packages, as well.

    Cons

Layoffs. Just be aware the company typically lets people go very easily. The reasons are largely due to budget since the company is still designing its organizational structure after the move from Glendale to Arlington.

Also, Google “Dan Loeb Nestlé.” Dan is a hedge fund billionaire who recently criticized the company for its poor strategy in keeping up with its competitors. Sales have moved at its slowest pace in more than two decades at the company. Dan’s letter to Nestlé sheds light on how poorly the company is performing. So again, just be aware and research Nestlé’s lackluster financial performance first before deciding to apply for a position. Your Nestlé career may be cut short through no fault of your own.

    Advice to Management

Hire a consulting firm to design a more sustainable organizational structure. The ongoing layoffs hurt Nestlé’s employer branding. The D.C. talent pool will also catch on and cause hardships for Nestlé’s recruitment strategy, especially since Amazon’s HQ2 will likely attract D.C.’s top talent.
