I worked at News Corp Australia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some teams I can see that they have good leadership but not all. Management is sometimes quick to handle things.

    Cons

As title suggests, nepotism at its best. My year at the company i found out so much higher ups are either family, distant relative or close family friend. Some team leaders are obviously chosen based on how close they’re to the managers and it shows. Such disappointment. Often times felt as if Im back in highschool playing “favourites”

I have been working at News Corp Australia full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great people. Decent culture. Fantastic location. The press hall downstairs frequently holds events that builds an exciting and vibrant place to work at. They have a good level of care such as when the bushfires were happening they offered mask to everyone.

    Cons

Career progression is non-existent. Unfortunately in the IT department, many roles have been outsourced to India. Last year there were significant redundancies made and it's expected to be more this year. Due to budget constrains and freezes the company does not provide any training or certification opportunities which is worrying being in the IT industry. It is also disappointing that managers have a traditional style on management. They have a must sit at desk 9 - 5PM mentality and must stay visibly present as validation you are doing work.
