I worked at Noodles & Company part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At our store in OH, the rest of the team members as well as the shift managers were terrific and understanding. Customers are typically pretty cool; we had quite a few regulars with whom we were all able to build relationships and rarely did we ever have anyone who would get extremely upset with us. Overall, it was a pretty good job, although the main reason why I stayed there for as long as I did was because I had become friends with my coworkers, so maybe it would have been different if I hadn’t established so many strong relationships there.

    Cons

Our manager left and moved out of state with no notice, and it became a bit of a train wreck after that. Plus, hiring managers kept hiring poor workers who should not have even made it past the first interview, which really brought team morale down. Also, I worked there for over a year (July 2017-October 2018) and only got one pay raise of 18¢ the whole time I was there, despite having been there for longer than any team member, almost always picking up shifts if they were short, or staying longer than I was supposed to. That was extremely disheartening.

    Advice to Management

It would be really nice if management would show that they care about us, or at least try to. There were very little appreciation efforts, and the few instances were extreme cases of favoritism based off of who management was “friends” with at the time.

Great management and great people to work with.

    Cons

Like any restaurant job you get a bad customer hear and there.

I worked at Noodles & Company part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pretty decent employee discount
    Some coworkers were nice

    Cons

Low pay, manager constantly made me feel like I'm not doing good enough, sometimes didn't allow employees to take breaks if it was too busy (national mac and cheese day is a hellish nightmare), manager didn't care about employee's personal lives yet took a week off for her sick dog, coworkers wouldn't help others out if it wasn't "their" position, people would be called in on days off or even on days where their shift was at a different time and managers pressured if you didn't come in, one busser was expected to bus the whole dining room by himself with a small tray instead of a bin

    Advice to Management

Realize that your employees have lives and problems outside of work

I have been working at Noodles & Company full-time

    Pros

Public company that has a startup feel. CEO knows everyone at the office by name. Soft perks are great (dogs at work, Friday breakfast, unlimited PTO, etc.)

    Cons

Political. Everything needs to be approved by multiple levels of management...can hamper productivity at times.

    Advice to Management

Give a bit of freedom back to employees.

    Pros

    1. The other employees
    2. Easy, fast-paced job

    Cons

There is a refusal to schedule you for the entire week if you tell them you can't work one day/scheduling you on the day you told them you needed off then placing the blame and responsibility on you to find someone to cover your shift. If you don't they won't schedule you for the next week.

    Pros

flexible schedule and really simple jobs.

    Cons

the pay/raises are not great and they don't really reward employees who know their stuff.

    Advice to Management
