I worked at Norton Rose Fulbright full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Technology is always being improved. Computers are up to date. Events, drinks, Christmas party. Process and procedures always improved, the system is very organized and always being improved. Location is perfect.

    Cons

Partners and associates believe they are the center of the universe and all staff in the organization exist to satisfy all their needs. They also believe that staff can read their minds and guess what is happening on their agenda. Experts in law but don't know how to pronounce words as Good Morning, Thank you, SORRY and so one... There is a lot of pressure to deliver results, but never enough staff, one person has to perform 100 tasks at the same time and after all the effort and long hours of work will be treated as incompetent and dumb. Benefits are not given with fairness , lunch, drinks, bonuses... The internal culture emphasizes the 'superiority" of some individuals, spreading inequality and showing that they don't know what is Team work.

I worked at Norton Rose Fulbright full-time

    Pros

    1. Kind support staff, most PAs are helpful and down to earth 2. Each fee earner is entitled to an iPhone 6 for work 3. International secondments opportunities - for graduates only

    Cons

    1. Lack of training 2. Lack of career progression 3. Little signs of equality among staff, in particular, female lawyers 4. Most promotions are made from external lawyers, little career progression within the firm 5. Most partners have little interest in developing people in their team 6. Long hours, little appreciation is shown for employees, some partners leave at 5 pm while leaving employees to work through the night and over weekends 7. Few staff benefits, e.g., frozen meals for working late 8. Too much internal politics, especially amongst partners. Everything is said behind closed doors. Total lack of transparency for staff. 9. Below market pay 10. Lack of bonus for high achievers
