    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Nous Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

great location in the heart of the city and hours are also good but some days will be long. have made some genuine friends here. there are a lot of great values but they aren't lived.

    Cons

performance management is disgusting. although things look ok on the surface they aren't. supporting senior managers who treat you like dirt and HR are most definitely not there to help you in any way, although will tell you different. If you end up supporting a manager who bullies you on a daily basis and makes your life hell and you have no where to turn don't think about contacting "HR" because it means you're out on as soon as is feasibly possible. most people think they have to walk around giving you negative and 'some' positive advice because they aren't meeting their KPI's. this ends up with staff in meeting rooms in tears but coming out all smiles for fear that people might think they can't cope. this is also seen as a negative. There are some very overly fake people working here. beware of them if you end up accepting one of their low paid roles.

    Advice to Management

HR needs to ramp up their care factor and support their lower level staff who they don't treat well. sort problems out rather than covering them up. Act sincere rather than being completely fake and you'll get more respect from your employees.

I have been working at Nous Group full-time

    Pros

Given exciting level of responsibility even as a Grad Consultant
    Huge level of autonomy
Genuine focus on work life balance (~200hr months)
Not a "cookie cutter" approach to projects - consultants given the opportunity to think deeply and try new ways to solve complex problems

Positive influence evident in most projects and celebrated company-wide
Employees at every level have a voice
    L&D initiatives improving rapidly

I worked at Nous Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

+ Collegiate, collaborative culture. Smart and friendly people
+ Focus on learning and development, not an "up or out" approach
+ Interesting projects, with a real commitment to positive influence and impact
+ Plenty of autonomy and opportunity to suggest ideas and grow the business. Flat hierarchy means everyone is treated equally
+ Better hours than most other tier 1 consultancies, ~200 hours/month (most of the time)
    + Genuine flexible work arrangements

    Cons

    - Remuneration is lower than other consultancies, though as previously mentioned, hours are often less too
    - High intensity and pace. Essentially squeezing into 200 hours what other consultancies would do in 250+
    - Expectation that you will manage your own time, work and learning (this isn't necessarily a "con", but it's not for everyone and can be a steep learning curve)
    - Fewer true private sector clients compared to public sector, NFPs, government corporations etc. (again, not a "con", just something to be aware of)

    Advice to Management

Nous' growth and success means what you're doing is working! Keep aiming for the right "pyramid" so the capacity and capability needs are met fairly.

I worked at Nous Group (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No one really gets in trouble at Nous. If you screw up, you're pulled aside and the conversation is about "learning". If you excel, and continue to excel you're recognised and the pats on the back are great. But it's quite a socialist, left leaning environment so no HUGE individual bonuses go out, every one shares in the combined success.

With very few exceptions I found everyone incredibly supportive, appreciative of differences, willing to learn and collaborative.

This is a great place to be exposed to government and NFP as this forms/formed the majority of work they do.

    Cons

If you're a hyper competitive type this place might not be for you. It's not "Nousey" to tread on your colleagues and you'll quickly be shunned. Luckily most people like this are weeded out in the interview process. And don't laugh, "Nousey" is actually a thing.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!
