Pros

Great training opportunities and room to grow in the organization. Technically up with the best in some respects but can be slow to develop new ideas. Some great people to work with who have a lot of experience to help foster a well developed career path for individuals.

Cons

Can be slow to develop new ideas and technically expand. Heavily burdened with a false HSE culture which does not actively target actual root causes of incidents and puts preventive measures in place. Some major changes as a result of Schlumberger takeover which have introduced a lot of red tape effectively strangling the companies ability to develop.

Pros

A pay check, free parking, close to the beltway so you can make it back home quickly, and that's about it.

Cons

If you get an offer ask to see or have them explain what their employee engagement numbers look like and that will tell you everything you need to know about the company. It was once a great place to work, but not now it is demoralizing. The company talks about engaging employees, but yet implements more micromanagement techniques. This is a text book case of the company talking the talk but NOT walking the walk in employee engagement. Good old boy system in place its not about what you know, but who you know for advancement. Very political, most managers dont know much of anything in terms of how to execute projects based on industry standards in oil and gas, but yet get promoted. Most managers have very limited exposure to the oil and gas industry outside of Cameron/OneSubsea.
