I have been working at Optus full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people, if you know the right people you'll get ahead quickly, work life balance can be OK - varies between teams, direct management are great - they're in the same boat as you, long tenure, discounts on telecommunications services,

    Cons

Dinosaur aged systems, who you know not what you know, can be extremely slow due to controlling leadership, lots of peacocking, collaboration by mantra only, long tenure, top level heavy, not actually a equal opportunity business

I have been working at Optus full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Accepting of different cultures - real diversity here; great Christmas party; accepting of new/different ideas

    Cons

Company likes to churn through employees rather than retraining - layoffs are frequent; salaries are under market; it isn’t in the CBD; more is expected with less money and less people - formula for burn out

I have been working at Optus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Optus has a phenomenal vision that sets it apart from other Tier 1 Telcos in Australia and globally. With ambitious targets they strive to challenge the status quo in both their products and communications. It's hard not to be passionate when working at Optus.

    Cons

With every big company there are issues with collaboration and teams operating in silos. However more recently the business has been working towards breaking down traditional functions and operations for seamless interactions. A process in the making.

    Pros

    - Hands down one of the best 'cultures' you can have at a company - Unbelievable world-class Grad Program - Google-esq work campus (we're talking basketball courts, bar, food courts and sometimes even ice-rinks in winter!) - Career development opportunities at your fingertips if you pursue them! - Flexible working arrangements to suit the way you live your life!

    Cons

If you're accustomed to the city-life, it might be a tricky transition!

I worked at Optus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Campus is comfortable & active working environment is well thought through - In general there are passionate individuals throughout the organisation - Salary's are competitive - Bonuses get paid fairly often

    Cons

    - Campus location isn't great and transport is fairly terrible - Politics with Singaporean management can be difficult - Re-structures pretty much yearly but manageable if you can perform your job well

I have been working at Optus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people and culture. Great campus in Sydney. Good staff benefits. Internal training courses are pretty good and run quite regularly. Good brand to have on your CV.

    Cons

Blame culture. Too many powerpoint packs instead of talking. Systems tend not to be interconnected so there is a lot of manual data manipulation or data re-entry. Some staff have no clue how to deliver a good customer service to their internal colleagues.
