    Pros

Commission scheme - make sure you have everything logged correctly because they will try every way possible to get out of paying commission. Especially if you were to leave. They will try to claw back commission that was paid months ago even though the candidate is still happily working with your client.

    Cons

    - The way the business perceives itself on social media is nothing like the way it operates on a day to day basis. - Good luck seeing a Manager pick up the phone and do a business development call. It’s a race to get as hands off as possible and dictate orders of how much activity you should be doing rather then showing how it is done. - High KPI’s with no understanding of why. No awareness that business trends have changed in the last 20 years. There is a mentality of “keep doing it the way we do it because this is the way we have always done it”. - Consultants are encouraged to perform duties in an unethical way to get the deal done. Management don’t care about clients or candidates, they only care about making placements. - I heard on several occasions by several managers and directors that they could not care less about clients. If you are a Consultant that wants to treat clients right... don’t join Opus. You won’t have the opportunity to do that here.

    Pros

Some really great people have been hired in the past...

    Cons

All those good people left the business and what is left of the business is a sharky, bullish environment. Who they portray themselves to be on the outside couldn't be further from the truth internally.

    Pros

A genuinely fantastic working environment whereby you truly get out what you put in. I've been at Opus for just over a year and after superb training and support I've achieved 2 promotions already. The commission structure is market-leading and incentives fantastic.

    Cons

There are no cons that spring to mind!

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions

    Pros

I didn't know what to expect when I started as a fresh grad with zero sales experience but looking back it was potentially the best decision of my life to date. In 12 months I've been promoted twice to Senior Consultant and am seen as a really valued employee where my ideas and input is noted and acted on which for someone with one years experience is rare to find. I now also mentor a newbie which again is responsibility that I relish and gives me great job satisfaction. In regards to money, every agency will promise great return for your hard-work and Opus lead the market in respect to this. In 2 Months I earned what some of my other graduate friends did in a year (seriously that's not an exaggeration). It's easily the best aspect of the job and allows me to not worry financially which is great especially with the ridiculous student loans I pay back.

    Cons

I would say the hours are long but they feel a lot shorter than any retail job I had before. Time literally flies by

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions full-time

    Pros

The Opus Professional Services Group is the Best recruitment Consultancy to work for in the country (The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2015) headquartered in the heart of Bristol (The Independent Most liveable cities in the UK). Need I say more? Opus as a business continually strives to better itself by developing its employees – whether that’s through investment in cutting edge technology and social media services, or world class training provided by dedicated on-site trainers or external consultants. The primary way in which Opus develops its staff however, is the provision of incentives and a truly meritocratic working environment. For those that want to achieve, commission is set at a market-leading 38%, with bonuses and car allowances - and that’s without taking into account the myriad weekly and monthly incentives on offer! The growth of the business to this level in a relatively short period of time is to my mind attributable to winning formula of hiring dedicated and ambitious trainees providing them with the support and tools to allow them to achieve and then motivating them to continually better themselves.

    Cons

With over 30% of employees earning over £100,000 a year, it will come as no surprise to learn that it’s not easy – if it was everyone would do it! Recruitment is a challenging field, and you will need to be continually pushing yourself. As daunting as it may seem at first, working in an environment with motivated and ambitious colleagues means that you’ll never feel that you’re the only striving for more, and when the results of your hard work do come through, you’ll not only be pleased with the recognition and material rewards, but also a sense of pride in having achieved more than you thought possible.

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions for more than a year

    Pros

After working for multiple recruitment companies, from FTSE organisations to a start up, I took the plunge and joined Opus a year ago. What instantly strikes you about Opus is the quality of sales people that you work with. I'd previously worked for companies where 10% of the consultants did the majority of the billings but at Opus everyone pulled their weight. This has multiple Pro's for joining the company, most importantly more people to learn from, but also (I'm quite competitive) a lot of quality to pit yourself against. What's actually refreshing about Opus is that although we're a room full of ambitious recruiters the team work is second to none. Every consultant here is a market specialist in a niche technology or job role so you get a lot of support in terms of landing new clients. The incentives and perks are market leading at Opus. It's very rare you're not working towards some form of incentive weather its skiing, retail vouchers, Michelin star meals or even VIP accommodation at the Monaco Grand Prix. All the while still getting commission on top!

    Cons

As mentioned above I'd like to think of Opus as the Real Madrid of recruitment. We only hire the best, weather this be a fresh graduate we can turn into the next galiticos or an already proven entity. Consequently, be prepared to work hard but you will get your rewards!

    Opus Talent Solutions Response

January 6, 2016Marketing and PR Executive

Thanks for a shinning review! Promoting from within is what makes Opus, Opus! Our aim and structure is to continue to allow anyone in the business to reach a level they couldn't have imagined previously! We're glad to see such positive feedback on our structure.

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I started at Opus as a Trainee Consultant with no experience, the training has been fantastic and I have since progressed to Senior Recruitment Consultant. The company is rapidly expanding which opens loads of new opportunities too - both internationally and in management. We have a great commission scheme where we can earn up to 35% of billings plus loads of incentives: I've been to michelin star restaurants, won spa days and gone on a company trip to Portugal!

    Cons

Recruitment is hard work with long hours but if you put the work in, you'll soon benefit from the commission!

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I've been a successful recruiter for a few years but always been frustrated with my working environment. I'm usually surrounded by incompetent consultants or poor management, so it's been so refreshing to join Opus. Some of the key highlights: - Great commission structure - Fantastic management who are very knowledgeable - Awesome incentives ranging from Porsche's to Holiday's abroad - Great working environment, everyone who comes to work here has a brilliant work ethic and knows their market inside out - They equip you with all the tools to recruit efficiently and invest in all high end job boards, Linkedin Recruiter and an amazing Recruitment database

    Cons

I was initially concerned that Opus would be too KPI driven and the working hours wouldn't be good (as I'm married) but that's genuinely not the case. Everyone who comes to work here works hard but there's still a good work life balance!

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I’ve recently joined Mclean Ross having worked for another recruitment company for 18 months and I’ve been surprisingly impressed on how BETTER things are. It's great to work for a small company which has that support from Opus to ensure we are best equipped to do our job and that’s what we get at Mclean Ross. The commission structure is set up to allow anyone who is driven to earn a lot of money to achieve those goals! This is currently being done by consultant who are in the 20s!!! Opus / McLean Ross is made up of people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and this is very pleasing to see. I am at the driving seat of my own career and with the support from Mclean Ross and Opus I am confident I can achieve my goals.

    Cons

The hours can be long, however if you ask someone who has achieved any sort of success for their “recipe for success” 9 times out of 10 they’ll say Hard Work!

I have been working at Opus Talent Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I had initially been impressed with the company based on the website, which showed that the company was at the forefront of what is a very competitive industry. What makes one company better than another? The people and their values. It was clear to me from the CEO down that this would be a place that would develop me as a consultant, encourage me, strengthen me and ultimately reward me. And so far, so true. The pay structure is fantastic, the incentives are exceptional, and the people are not only some of the best I've worked with, but also extremely friendly and helpful. It is important to remember that we are part of one of the fastest growing companies in the UK, and it is clear now from the inside how and why. Coming to work is a really enjoyable experience at McLean Ross.

    Cons

This is not a job for the feint-hearted. It is high pressure, time-intensive role, and one that is very difficult to leave at the door in the evening. Although conversely I don't think I could work any other way.
