I have been working at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Willing to hire limited experience and it's great first job experience. If you stick it out for a couple years then you should be able to get higher offers elsewhere. Job Security is pretty good

    Cons

Happiness hear will very GREATLY depending on which department your work in, and who you report to within that department Hours worked each week can get high. Big issue if salaried. Pay is below what you'd receive elsewhere. If it's your first job, it wont sting as much. Management can be very difficult to work under in some departments. I'm sure some are okay, but others can be a condescending, unreasonable, and...

I have been working at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Potential to make good money if you don't mind the grind.

    Cons

You will NOT get time off; company churns-and-burns employees; the pay changes ALL THE TIME, so it's very difficult to earn top dollar; if you are not a consistent producer, you WILL be let go; regardless of what they say, there is no "team" environment -- if you do not look out for yourself, you will be taken advantage of; every single guest hates you; you MUST tell half-truths to people all the time if you expect to...

I worked at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Free coffee, consistent pay weekly.

    Cons

Does not value their employees, most positions do not have a permanent cubicle for you--so basically you carry your belongings and clean each day every day. They do not supply cleaning supplies. You will also have to get in earlier to log onto a working computer.

    Advice to Management

A turnover rate over 30% is excessive, look at your managers not the employees. Clean carpets, supply more work spaces and train managers with a degree or management experience.

I have been working at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and good experience

    Cons

There is favoritism. Management frowns on college education. They believe you must work for years to move up and college education is irrelevant. Managers do not have college education and do not know how to deal with employees. They are closed minded to innovatative ideas. Loyal employees who have been with the company for years leave because there is no opportunity to move up.

    Advice to Management

Get a college education. Take care of your loyal employees. Your wasting company training employees who leave to company. Be receptive to innovated ideas. Encourage and stop bullying your co-workers.

I worked at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Relatively short work day, resort atmosphere, decent medical benefits & hotel discount benefits.

      Cons

Quotas are changed at will (changed 3 x in one year), Pay schedule was changed 2 x in 18 months to decrease earnings. Poor oversight from upper management to lower and middle management. Office is very political, not merit based as was promised during training. Only the chosen will have opportunity to earn.

      Advice to Management

Upper management , look closely at middle and lower management's handling of the dialer system, the distribution of warmer leads, the allowance of favored reps tours booked that are not "allowed" according to company tour guidelines. Anyone can look like a rockstar if they don't have the same rules to adhere to as the rest.

I worked at Orange Lake Resorts full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Good place to make $12.50 an hour for the first 30 days while starting but they hire anyone with a pulse

      Cons

Managers come across intimidating but never teach us to help sharpen our skills. They run a sales training class with ten new reps once or twice a month and within 4-6 months it’s almost completely turned over. Only a few people many money. Terrible place to work.

      Advice to Management

Don’t allow managers to only help the longest tenured OPC’s. They seed the top people leads while they new reps don’t get anything but a beat down.
