Pay is decent but read the long list of cons below

Cons

A ton, see below for each in detail: I can’t wait to leave this place! LAYOFFS: let’s lead with this because this company has done a good (sketchy) job of scrubbing layoffs. They do and have done layoffs and they are mismanaged by revved up boomers and took out 10% of the company via layoffs. People don’t talk about it unless you press them. I assume they were told don’t bring it up. Very sketchy business practices and shows their mismanaged priorities and money issues!! Holidays: they are super weird with USA holidays (missing a ton). In this space, you should have unlimited PTO (they don’t) and follow all normal holidays (they don’t). Culture; HORRIBLE. The worst I’ve ever been apart of in my life. This is a revved up British company NOT a chill USA company. They love LOVE useless meetings and they will take attendance on these meetings and triple book meetings then wonder why you’re 3 minutes late because you have to go to the bathroom. They are super weird about camera being on while on the abundance of unnecessary internal meetings. They hire C-Suite that cultivate a boomer culture rather than new age culture and they micromanage across different departments. Antiquated software culture (bad). They all talk and gossip which is creepy. This is not the place to go and let your work speak for itself. They care more about your camera being on, never giving you a break and drinking the Kool Aid than real outcomes. ZERO grace given. PTO: 25 days (this is good) however they use this as an excuse for why they don’t give you off on certain holidays. I hate to break it to them but the 25 days is not a reason to rob holidays when other software companies are almost all unlimited PTO and plentiful in holidays. Micromanaging: they watch everything you do. Camera on? 30 seconds late to a meeting? Passive aggressive about it too. Meetings: NONSTOP. 1/10 (10%) actually have substance. 90% are garbage meetings, wasting our time for real work. Again this is an old boomer culture thing (excessive meetings). People: certainly are a few good people but they’re good at hiring puppets for their culture to control them. Overall, weird vibe IF you are younger and against boomer culture - you feel like everyone is fake and trying to backstab you. The cool people either leave, get fired or a few stay because they have bills to pay. You can tell there’s a ton of people miserable here but feel stuck probably.
