I have been working at Origin Energy full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

They have geared up to allow consultants to work from home moving forward, even past COVID-19

    Cons

Career pathways do not exist in South Australia. It's clear that unless you're from Melbourne. Don't bother.

I worked at Origin Energy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good software systems and technology to gain experience and work with. Great exposure to energy industry. Fantastic office location and equipments for agents.

    Cons

Absolutely pathetic! Treated like dogs with no care given to work life balance, no breaks allowed more than two 10 min breaks and one 30 min breaks. even that you can't take whenever you like although nothing like this is mentioned in the contract. Too much of micromanagement. Uneducated office crowd, most of them only high school pass out or probably failed that too. The manager itself has no clue how a technology or that particular dept works yet they are team leads. Talk about inefficiency and getting a job by licking hire authorities. The only thing they do is talk-talk and brainwash you into believing something only from their point of view. Not open to accepting new ideas, you are trained to do exactly what they want you to be like (Robot). Stupid random meetings that could have been a simple email. Massive pressure to hit unachievable KPIs (everyone knows) or you are threatened million times that you will get fired. Mass hiring and mass firing. Makes no sense why would you even hire if you plan to fire them in a month, for example 20 were hired and by the end of 6 months only 4 were left. 3 Guns quit as the culture itself was ridiculous. Even experienced agents who join new are treated like high school kids who are out on an excursion picnic or so. Cold racism against other ethnic backgrounds exists.
