I worked at Origin Energy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pay, flexable work hours, people you work with, modern workplace

    Cons

Poor team leader attitudes and kpi are just ridiculous to keep you on edge all day.. ops managers were too close to you and always micro managed. Intimidating workplace.. closed contact centre in adelaide due to sending it to manila. Everyone made redundant in the service departmant.

I worked at Origin Energy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - “Some” nice, kind, normal people

    Cons

    - Team Leaders are bullies!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn’t have anxiety before started. On permanent Anxiety medication because of this company. - Human Resources are ruthless and cruel. HR and team leader; conflict of interest... even if they did wrong... YOU are wrong and will pay. - Cliques. You just won’t fit. Just like high school. - Team leader great at telling you one thing, then says another and you get yelled at for doing what they asked first. - Talk up career progression like it really happens... nope. - NO work/life balance whatsoever. Bring it up with them, they don’t care. - The whole place is a con.

I worked at Origin Energy full-time

    Pros

Working with great people on my floor. Before changes were made within my department, the atmosphere and company culture were great. Now it's just boring and you never interact with other people than the ones you sit next to. Pay is great compared to jobs in similar roles. The KPI's have changed and there's some months you probably won't hit it all but if you're lucky you can. Only reason I was here for more than a year was because I thought there was opportunity for growth - this is false

    Cons

Poor management. Managers are hardly available for support and are never there when you actually need them. Whenever a customer wants to speak to a team leader, 9 times out of 10 there will be no one and you have to request a call back (which also never gets actioned until at least a week later). They also frequently get people to step up and look after teams temporarily, the people are ok but they arent equipped at managing a team and are really useless. Give wrong information all the time. Also, don't expect career opportunities or growth within your department because they have moved every role they possibly could to our off shore centre. They also claim to be really supportive of flexible work arrangments, and a lot of people do have those arrangments however when you apply for it they tell you it will be hard and you 'have to work for it'.

I worked at Origin Energy full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent pay. Workplace flexibility. Easy to change super contributions. Hard to write the minimum number of words as I stayed for the pay.

    Cons

Team leader simply didn’t care about team- left team to self manage whilst self promoting himself. A very frustrating company - so many layers of men in management positions who are not interested in any ideas of improvement other than their own.

I worked at Origin Energy full-time

    Pros

salary, location, can work around personal needs such as hours and going part time

    Cons

worked in the credit department, by far the worst management I have ever seen. Bullying from team leaders and managers, neglecting consultants mental health, no career paths but would randomly select low achieving members for better roles. constantly given low reviews by staff which were basically ignored. very unhappy and negative place with poor priorities
