Pros
Everyone is so nice! All the employees are very helpful and kind. The hospital is nice and the benefits are good.

- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
Good benefits. Generous PTO. Great surgeons. Large hospital with a lot of patients. Main OR does all types of surgeries so great opportunity for learning and to get experience. 8 hour and 12 hour shifts available, both day and night. Management works well with managing employee schedules and vacations. Not a lot of call during the week. Usually work only 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks. Salaries are getting better with many market adjustments in the past 5 years. Still not the best for the amount of work and type of surgeries but it is improving.
Cons
Excess turnover of staff in the past several years. A lot of new circulators and scrubbers. Very busy and stressful weekend shifts with very little leadership. A revolving door of Directors, 5 in 10 years to be exact. Poor management of excessive tardies and sick calls. Staffing issues. Experienced circulators and scrubbers will do all of the heavy lifting and hard cases. Low call pay. Poor management of OR schedule, with very heavy busy days and very slow days. Management expects you to stay when they over book the OR but will turn around and send you home the very next day when the OR is slow. Overall not happy with the way the hospital managed the pandemic. They took away hours in the first shut down, with little options to get paid. There was no support with EDD benefits. A lot of employees lost all of their PTO trying to survive the shut downs. Poor overall hospital moral. Poor overall moral in the OR. Management finds temporary or short term fixes to major problems. Management doesn't fix problems quickly and effectively. Some very bad attitudes, in older staff, who cause drama and think they run the place. OR equipment and instruments are out dated or old technology. It takes years for new surgeons to get the supplies and instruments they need to advance the OR and provide better patient care. Overall the hospital is cheap. The quality of our supplies and equipment has gone down drastically in the past 3 years.
