    I worked at PRA Health Sciences full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great supportive team member.

    Cons

    Worked in finance department for two years. Salary is terribly below market rate and manager expects us to work more than 38 hours including weekends without any overtime. The team is completely alienated from other department, non-participation in social activities, no friday early finish even though the contract says so, no family life, if you have family you are treated as a burden in the department. Manager... brings workload from other department to prove their competency rather than having a proper communication with other departmental managers. Candidates are hired only from particular ethnic group, so as they can be paid low. Overall, the department seriously lacks Australian workplace culture, value and unfair salary.

    Finance departments needs a major shakeup in term of unfair pay, unethical workload, work-life balance and should select candidates from different ethnicity.

    The study teams are lovely and great to work with and the colleguages are there to help.

    Cons

    Unfortunately, the management is not supportive and does not listen to problems/issues/needs of an employee. No organization within the company itself. Only the business goals are counting with the days on site but the employees helath/well being is not important. Harsh comments are given when employee informs in advance that a certain deadline cannot be fulfilled.

    Advice to Management

    Your employees are valuable and concerns should be taken seriously and not ignored all the time. If an employee seeks help from the management try at least to give some advice.

    Excellent training - really excellent. The internal training team and online training systems are second to none.

    Cons

    It is a scary reminder of the 'it" crowd at high school. You are not made to feel welcome from day one and it seems as if you have to earn the opportunity to speak and interact with certain members of the clinical operations side. On the work side, you are not really allowed to interact with sponsor, even if your points are valid. This has to go through a middle line manger and chances are your opinions are lost... in translation and you go unheard. There is a very high turnover rate at present as well. Obviously these times come and go but when turnover is high for a prolonged period, issues need to be addressed.

    Wonderful colleagues - all very supportive of one another. Extensive training provided.

    Cons

    Unfortunately you don't really have a voice unless you know the right people. If you don't then everyone is deaf to what you have to say. People are unhappy as they are overworked and there is no support system.

    I worked at PRA Health Sciences full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Seemed like a great company from the start.

    Cons

    - Petty and unfair managers. Only want "yes" robots but not employees with their own ideas and opinions. Favouritism is also the worst here. Buddies of managers get promoted and not based on merits. - Good employees are not valued. False promises are made with no intention of them actually becoming a reality.
