I worked at PageGroup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Worldwide company and good marketing behind name.

    Cons

Toxic management who put profits over clients and staff. Extremely unprofessional in some aspects, money focused however even at cost to others like clients.

    Advice to Management

You exist for profit, that's understood however eventually your new found staff attrition and lack of quality placements will catch up.

I worked at PageGroup full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Progression is available should you be able or prepared to stick it out.

    Cons

Different standards for different people. Threaten to quit and the world will be handed to you on a platter. Stay and be a loyal employee and you're treated like dirt. Bonus scheme is an absolute joke and frankly the 'discretionary' element simply cannot continue. The Australian business in being lead by a MD who has lost touch with the reality of the business and who allows his senior leaders to run rampant through the organisation taking roles from their staff in order to make their own bonus. They talk a big game about diversity and making their staff happy, however they really don't care about the leaking bucket that is PageGroup NSW. Huge turnover over the past couple of years, way above the market average.

    Advice to Management

Start looking seriously at your senior leaders and analyse exactly why just over a quarter of consultants are making bonus. Restructure your leadership function and start encouraging your leadership team to actually coach their staff rather than steal called in jobs from them.

I worked at PageGroup full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I had a fantastic 4 years here. Great career trajectory and you have tangible targets to get promoted. Met some life long friends. Pay is very good. This was my first corporate role and its great they give opportunities to those with no/limited experience. Some fantastic incentives - went on two 5 star rewards trips in Asia.

    Cons

Pretty long working hours, though flexibility was being introduced when I left. ´Phone time´ was a ridiculous KPI which made no sense when measuring results. Because everyone starts at the bottom, certain senior members have spent their entire career here, meaning they are quite tunnel-visioned. There is some bad blood when you leave which is unnecessary, in particular from the MD.

    Advice to Management

Hire some talent at Director level to give the company another perspective. More benefits would be good to keep up with the market. If someone resigns, don´t pretend they never existed.
