I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not much. I was sent to a major projects, alliance with Theiss, and Theiss employees are the worst, so much bullying.

    Cons

Some colleagues don't give support. After major project ends, so is your career, then made me redundant.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good CBD location. 1st Friday drinks. Good projects, seriously PB tenders for every council and transport job out there.

    Cons

A few people have been promoted above their competency level -- being a good transport planner doesn't make you a good project manager or a commercially savvy leader. Some are still thinking like they are in government. Expect the team leader to come around and ask you to take your holidays if there is a low workload. Also, if you don't negotiate hard for your salary, they don't do CPI salary increases whilst you...

    Advice to Management

Do a salary review more often and reward people for bringing in work, presenting at conferences and networking events. The only recognition people get in transport is when you have your send-off drinks.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company offers experience in multiple domains and geographies which provides great flexibility for a range of interesting career options, and especially in the public infrastructure domain.

    Cons

Mindset is very much entrenched in old school engineering disciplines, plus siginificant overheads (among the rare stars) within the senior executive layer.

    Advice to Management

Whilst management gives many verbal indications of valueing the worker bees, there's little tangible evidence of this. People like to stay due to the homegrown culture, but leave as soon as someone offers better pay.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff for more than 10 years

    Pros

Management promote from outside so great place to get a job. Lots of opportunities for those selected. Few highly dedicated technical professionals, so lots of opportunities to rise. Values the inexperienced especially at mid level management.

    Cons

Driven by bottom line, so those with project management speak do well. Office is nearly empty at 4 pm so excellent work life balance, except the few dedicated technical proficient individuals who work long hours. So be careful not to become one of those.

    Advice to Management

Continue the hard work. Continue to support the promotion of the talented. Continue to reward the managers and ignore the technical experts, it is the road to profit. Continue to drive into the ground the technical experienced, with low pay and restricted opportunities for promotion. more opportunities for the talented.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time

    Pros

Good exposure to big projects, highly skilled staff.

    Cons

Too many corporate politics in the background. Very little recognition to the people that actually win or do the real work.

    Advice to Management

PB's strong track record & the strike rate for winning big jobs is a result of a lot of hard of some people that don't get acknowledged - Not the ones whose only great skill is to write emails bragging at how good they are
