I have been working at QIAGEN full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great focused, very experienced and innovative teams Global expertise if not available on site. Great team spirit Possibility to travel for work (could be a minus for some people) Great visibility Great opportunity for someone who wants to know more about DNA sequencing technologies (front, center, and back ends) and have a direct impact on them. Management favor innovation and promote inventions, ideas,... exchanges... We have had very successful people with no prior experience

    Cons

Difficulty to deal with teams on different time zone. Small group means you have to do many things and often change priorities. Too many tasks, too little time ....and fast pace Great visibility You need to be self-sufficient [but for people with no experience, mentoring is always schedule for as long it takes; after that you need to be effective...] . No or limited connections with other QIAGEN US based sites......

    Pros

The team spirit at this location is fantastic. The projects are very exciting and challenging. There are high expectations and everyone is kept busy with testing timelines. Great opportunities to develop and launch products

    Cons

Career development of individuals is an area that needs attention. This is an area that is being addressed currently

    Advice to Management

Continue to monitor the career development of the employees. Important to keep the pulse on this area and that projects are the only focus.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at QIAGEN full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Dynamic, varied work, exposure to clients, PMA submissions, good team spirit

    Cons

Too busy, inefficiency, business driven by R&D (product development) rather than clinical/ medical/ regulatory requirements

    Advice to Management

Look at the rest of the market; update standard project phases to match regulatory clinical requirements ie address medical and clinical affairs in priority to product development. PD leadership at the start of a project must be balanced by other core team members throughout.
