I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work/life balance, Cutting edge work (if you're lucky enough to be assigned to it)

    Cons

Tend not to take interns seriously, often projects are found last minute

    Advice to Management

Take your interns more seriously (in terms of assigning them meaningful work)

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Tangibles Competitive Pay and Great Benefits Free housing, Great Company-Wide Events, free food, free soda and drinks, coffee, on campus cafeteria, gym-- the list goes on and on. Intangibles Absolutely fantastic coworkers. Some of the best friends I have to this very day. Everyone I came across was extremely friendly, intelligent, and hard-working.

    Cons

There was an impossible lack of communication and cooperation between departments. Work seemed menial and pointless at times. Often the tasks given to Finance Interns was un-rewarding and processor-level activities.

    Advice to Management

It's an engineering company-- through and through. But give the Finance Interns a rewarding role in which they have a manager who is willing to go to bat for them Overall, this is a dead-end for finance interns.
