I have been working at Rio Tinto for less than a year

    Pros

    - Top of the market pay rate - Awesome Managers ( Operations Team in Perth, Rails was a bit of a mess tbh) - Great Teammates - Rio is very accommodating with requests - Great opportunity if you remember that as a contractor you're not there to make any internal changes, you're there to make your Rio Managers and Department look awesome. The better they look the more work you'll get. Don't try to push anything, just stick to within your team and contacts and be someone people go to in order to solve problems.

    Cons

    - Being a Contractor at Rio can be ruthless, they can and will give you an hour's notice before ending your contract (Always have other contracts on the go). - They expect results very quickly (can put a little to much pressure on some people, although this also means you tend to get high performers in contractor roles which is a positive).
