I worked at River Island Clothing for less than a year

    Pros

All breaks given, employee discount, uniform allowance

    Cons

When taken ill at work managers can be rude and question you assuming you're lying. Shift patterns irregular. Limited responsibility means you depend on calling other staff to help you with basic tasks due a limit of your access.

I have been working at River Island Clothing for less than a year

    Pros

There was a nice friendly atmosphere, the managers didn't make it point that they were "superior" to you, everyone did their job. The shifts were only 4 hours so not too bad especially for a uni student, you could do overtime if you wished. You were paid for what you did.

    Cons

They were not very understanding of my availability. As I am a uni student who hadn't seen their family for months, I made the sacrifice of staying in the city until Christmas Eve, which meant I missed several family obligations in the run-up to Christmas. this was a decision that was made after being threatened with the termination of my contract. I was open about not being able to work boxing day due to my needing to spend time with family but they were not understanding and didn't listen. When they ask if you can do a shift, they seem to be very pressurising and when I said I was not available they put me down on the rota any way. There seems to be a lot more favouritism towards permanent staff so not all employees are treated equally. The pay itself isn't great given the tasks you do.

I worked at River Island Clothing part-time

    Pros

The 40% discount is good, some of my co workers were lovely and all customers I personally dealt with were fine.

    Cons

Although the amount of discount is good you could only use the discount at the store you work (absolutely ridiculous), they said my contract was due to end one month but ended earlier without even a proper chance of review, I was not given enough notice about my contract terminating, some managers gossip like school girls and are honestly bullies it's disgusting, the store rarely had any decent stock.
