      Former Employee - Lecturer
      Doesn't Recommend
      Neutral Outlook

I worked at Royal Melbourne Institute Of Technology full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

      The salary is industry standard.

      Cons

Top level management is determined to decimate education by cutting lecturers and teaching academics. The students suffer most. They receive a load of online rubbish instead of an actual education. Management doesn't let the reality penetrate their buffer wall of bonuses.

      Advice to Management

      Get a real job.

I worked at Royal Melbourne Institute Of Technology part-time

      Pros

Great location and interesting people. Contemporary curriculum design and course profiles.

      Cons

The university is overly weighted towards administration and compliance procedures that are not employee driven

      Advice to Management

Give more weight to practitioners' assessments of their own performance and less weight to evaluations deriving from potentially immature individuals with limited life experience
