I worked at SHI International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved my time at SHI and hope to potentially return post-Covid if they asked me back. I got the opportunity to grow tons by recruiting for many positions, take on college recruiting after I expressed that it was my passion and join a world class team that I truly miss. The leadership in recruiting was fantastic and I will continue to shout my #whyshi from the rooftops.

    Cons

Things changed a lot, but honestly it was a pretty fun challenge so not much of a con.

I worked at SHI International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I've made some of my best friends of my life at this company. The culture is second-to-none. The CEO believes in long-term success vs short-term answers, and has built a management team around her that mirrors that mentality. Being a VAR in the IT industry means you adapt quickly to the market, which is why SHI has always experienced growth. I would highly recommend the company to anyone and would gladly go back to work there if the right position were presented to me.

    Cons

Things are always shifting around, usually for the better, but you have to anticipate that and don't get too comfortable.

I have been working at SHI International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Since Day 1, I have been pushed outside of my comfort zone and grown so much as a professional. My Team and my Managers have been such an amazing support (professionally and personally). In the last 6 months that I have been here, I have been to an Awards Ceremony for the Sales Division, several offsite outings and brainstorming sessions, and multiple SHI events. Point being - you are not just a number here, leadership values the work that you do and celebrates you.

    Cons

The only Con I can think of is you really have to get used to adapting with all of the changes here. SHI is growing so quickly that as soon as you get really used to something, you will have to adapt to a change. All the changes are for the better in the long run but it does take a second to adjust.

"Account Executive - Not bad, not great either."

    I worked at SHI International

    Pros

Good pay - 50K base plus commission and the occasional spiff, the training is quite good and the expectations for your first year are also quite reasonable. You can make some pretty serious money at SHI. As with many sales jobs, if you're killing it, you get more leeway.

    Cons

The micro management is pretty bad. Management has a style of sales that they want and they push it on you pretty hard. Follow up emails to customers from sales calls are to have multiple managers blind copied on them - it makes you feel like a robot.

I have been working at SHI International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Heavy sales training in the corp sector of SHI, you will definitely make money. Sales conference is a blast. The best company in the industry in terms of competitive advantage.

    Cons

Micro-managed to an extent. Depending on where you live, you may not make as much as some of the other account execs.

I worked at SHI International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Overall a very positive place to work. They value young people, so if you're in your mid 20s looking for a job out of college with a lot of growth potential this is the place to be. I worked as an AE for 200-5,000 user companies in Birmingham AL.

    Cons

Only downside that I can think of is the learning curve. The clients you're selling to know more than you do about the products so at least in the enterprise space that I sold in you really need to know tech backwards and forwards.

I worked at SHI International full-time

    Pros

Great place to start an IT sales career, sort of like IT Boot Camp. Gives you a great opportunity to learn a little bit about a lot of different products and technologies.

    Cons

Stacked-ranking approach to sales management coupled with countless reports and metrics to hit make doing your job successfully impossible, even when hitting sales numbers. There is little time in the day left to actually 'sell' after getting the required administrative tasks completed. Favoritism among management creates animosity on sales teams and can lead to embarrassment at events when reps are singled out as stars and others are ignored. No real value proposition to present to customers due to identical business model as numerous competitors, aside from Minority-Owned Status.
