I worked at SHI International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

wellness program (while i was there at least) casual can gain necessary experience

    Cons

-Incestuous work environment leads to drama in the work place -Micromanaging and cattiness by managers -Deceiving job titles: Sales Enablement Specialist that had absolutely nothing to do with sales. More of a Data Analyst Role at half the average data analyst salary - you will end up "wearing many hats" and you will NOT be awarded for your dedication come end of year/salary increase time -HR Department is a JOKE

    SHI International Response

    March 6, 2019Sr. Director, Communications & Marketing

Thanks for providing your feedback. Although your advice to management was to provide “Clarity,” your description of the day-to-day activity of a Sales Enablement position is crystal clear. A large part of the success of SHI’s account teams comes from the “behind-the-scenes” work done by the employees of SHI’s various Sales Enablement teams - and those members can wear many hats. Whether it is assisting customers through a software volume licensing consultation, analyzing purchasing history to identify new cost-savings opportunities or conceiving, proposing and delivering trainings, SHI’s Sales Enablement positions play a key role in ensuring SHI’s customers are supported by the IT industry’s most efficient, knowledgeable and valuable account teams, every single day.

I worked at SHI International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are a lot of great, young people. Decent amount of PTO, 16 days. Inexpensive health insurance. Good resume builder.

    Cons

Upward mobility is limited and dependent on how well you’re liked by your manager instead of how good you are at your job. Pay is way below industry standards and bonuses are small.

I have been working at SHI International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

SHI is a very relaxed, enjoyable, I would even say fun place to work at. I love the people. I love the freebies. The work is just enough to keep you busy but not enough to want to pry your eyes out. There are a lot of appreciation dinners/gifts/trips etc. all in all it seems like it could be comparable to working at like google with how relaxed and carefree it is here.

    Cons

I can't help but feel that all the extra perks we get around here are just to cover up the fact they don't want to pay is what I feel is deserved. For a technology company that is bringing in billions, I don't understand how your starting salary is 30k and even managers and support teams (non sales) I haven't heard of anyone making more than 70k.

    Pros

    - Opportunities for personal development and growth - Sales specialist role is flexible and you gain exposure to operations and marketing, you have the freedom to make the job yours - Great people and teammates

    Cons

    - Sales support teams are in 'silos' - there is little contact with those who support a different manufacturer than the one you do - Smaller teams can be left short handed when teammates request off - Salary could be better

I have been working at SHI International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The culture is great - most of the sales positions are filled with younger, like-minded people.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for growth, and often the company hires less qualified people to positions in order to pay less.
