This business is divided up into camps. First you have the inside folks who think the outside sales team does nothing but ride around all day. Most of the inside sales team sits around and waits for their phone to ring, snipes the outside team. The outside team has it tough, no new products or technology to sell ... just the same old stuff. However, many have had long Salem careers without producing much. You wont make much but you can fly under the radar for a very long time. The worst con at Salem is management. There are three who make all the decisions. One just looks the other way on the hard stuff, never wants to get dirty hands. The other two think they know everything about sales and customers but never and I mean never leave the office. It is a miserable culture filled with back stabbing and an ancient beliefs.
