I worked at Salvation Army full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

You're helping people No nights and sundays off Great medical Generous vacation and sick time Pension plan Fast paced Always busy

    Cons

The pay is greatly off base compared to retail. It is a nonprofit, but for how much is dependent on the stores, in order to get and retain quality people, you need to pay more. Administration does not care about moral or the people. Proper tools to productively get the job done are not supplied. No recognition for a job well done. Hardly knows anyones name below upper management.
