Pros

I can't think of any positives about Service Doctor. I would say it was a paycheck that paid my bills but it didn't even do that. Perhaps the best thing about Service Doctor was my last day.

Cons

In the beginning you're hired on for $9 an hour with promises of raises and bonuses. The raises never happen and the bonuses are constantly manipulated by the one owner you never see those either. Also no overtime is ever paid how the law requires. You either get paid cash under the table or bank it to use as normal hours at a later time. The harder you work the more work you are given. This is so the sales manager has plenty of time for her "Extra-Curricular" Activities. She'll throw you a file of a full bathroom remodel with 2 measurements and you have to try to figure it out. No one knows what's going on....EVER. No one is in charge. No one ever owns up to knowing anything. It's ridiculous. In the beginning you'll fall for the nice guy charm of the one owner. He's a salesman that doesn't care about anything but himself. Period. He'll claim that he's there to help you "Feed your Family" He is not. Working at Service Doctor is a constant battle with the so called management, the employees and the homeowners. All work is subpar. Everyone always calls to complain about how their service was a disaster . The other owner, who works mostly in the field, wastes his time and talent by running around and fixing everyone's screw-ups. Save your sanity, your stress level and your time by staying away from this soul sucking place.

Pros

They allow you to drink at work, if you want, as long as it is in an unmarked glass. You can call off as much as you like, but the pay is so low, its not a good idea.

Cons

False promises, no recognition of talent, extremely low pay for what is expected. Very poor workmanship (due to low pay, workers are inexperienced and are instructed to watch you-tube videos to learn how to (try to) complete tasks). They micro manage, do not listen to any input from anyone, constantly change procedures. Customers suffer from no direct person in charge or responsible for their project; there is no project manager. They hire the cheapest subcontractors available, no matter the quality of work. The resurfacing department is decent, but I wouldn't let the remodeling side work on a tree house. Office staff have no background in the industry. Sales avoids having any involvement with customer after initial meeting. They are only a user of people; won't even hire a service to clean the office - expects staff to clean. There is a kitchen in the office, and they hold cooking parties and sell tickets marketed as "cooking school". All food is packaged, and people that buy these tickets are expected to cook it. They make elderly grandmother do all food shopping for these events even though she can barely walk. Unsanitary conditions, rotten food in fridge, owner allows dog to urinate and defecate in office, and walk on the countertops where people pay to eat. NO BENEFITS WHATSOEVER. Illegally don't pay overtime. No paid holidays, not even a Christmas party. Accounting has no formal education or experience in finance. Bills and subcontractors don't get paid for months. The only good thing is (one), who does work in the field, is very good at what he does. He mostly spends time fixing all the work the others screw up though.

Pros

They are closed on Sundays.

Cons

The owners are disorganized and terrible at delegating duty. They are constantly changing the job descriptions and make it nearly impossible to actually stay on task. The office manager is condescending and belittling. They never give raises and are extremely cheap. They won't even provide pens for the office workers. They have a very difficult time keeping anyone in the office for more than three months.
