Pros
- Great working culture and you are treated brilliantly - Offices are cool - Higher management genuinely care
Cons
- Basic salary is extremely low - Yes there is commission involved but the good commission only comes from new business - Very pressured and stressful job - The role is extremely saturated, too many AMs for not enough quality accounts - Salary sacrifice after first year which they don't explain in enough detail before you join. For anyone wondering what this is, in simple terms after you complete your first year, you are made to pay £1500 of your GP you've made from orders to Softcat to pay for your seat. This is MONTHLY. Your first £1500GP made each month, goes to the company and you don't see or get commission on any of it.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that the nature of sales can be difficult at times with us requiring business development, under tight timescales. We will take on board the feedback re the paying for your seat and will see how we can ensure we're being clear at the very start what that means when it kicks in. Thanks Rachel

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Softcat for more than a year
Pros
Great Company to work for. Really cares and values its employees. plenty of opportunity and progression available. Cold calling is cold calling, however worth while for the uncapped commission structure.
Cons
Average basic salary, but the un-capped commission makes up for this.

Thank you for taking the time to review working at Softcat, we do appreciate it! We're really chuffed that you feel it's a really great place to work, that's our ultimate aim! We understand, like you mentioned that the Account Exec role is focused on building your own accounts, which requires cold calling, and we're ensuring that we're being transparent about that when candidates talk to us about the role so we know it's the right fit for them. Un-capped commission for us is a biggie, as it's pretty competitive in the market, you are your own boss! Thanks again! Rachel
