Pros

Some really nice people Beer Friday's

Cons

- management have their favourites and won't listen to views of others - extremely poor choice in staff recruitment - problems in employee engagement, leading to high staff turnover - overworked, undervalued and underpaid - progression only available for some, not all - not everyone is treated equally, some are entitled to more than others - constant low morale and complaints almost every day by various members of staff towards the business - "breakout" room which consists of a sofa, table and PS4 (where you're more likely to find AD than at his desk). Room only caters to those who are interested in games consoles. If you want some quiet time, tough luck, you won't get any - Managers who threaten staff and are awarded with expensive leaving lunches - management are selfish, greedy and some are just plain rude

Pros

Some of the people are great, strong bonds form here due to all the trauma bonding. Private Health Insurance 10-15 calls a day per person on an average day. Low compared to some other places.

Cons

Classic exploitative workplace. The management is trying to solve the age old problems of the company with increasing the already big pressure on the staff with unachievable KPIs. The service desk is generally chaotic, the workload is not balanced evenly between team members but as long as the job is done the management doesn’t care that some people are over worked while others barely do anything. If you tell them you’re struggling they promise you everything then don’t even try to keep them. Loads of serious issues with HR. They portray a false image, preaching about their amazing culture then anytime a problem comes up they try to solve it by having a go at the staff. On a team meeting HR was pressuring the management to publicly single out low performers which made everyone, including the management uncomfortable and they even told us we should be thankful we still have a job. When upper management is around however, they again show a completely different face. They have a tendency of lying about their own policies. They also have lack of knowledge of employment law (I will give them the benefit of doubt and not say they’re lying about that as well). The service desk is expected to use their mobile phone for work but they don't give you a work phone or compensate you in any way (other than the site analysts), the rest of the company however gets compensation. Ridiculously demanding clients, the number of calls are not too high but they can be very intense. It's a very stressful job in general. If you urgently need a job it’s good enough but for anything long term it’s better to go somewhere else.

Pros

Friendly environment. Small company so easy to get to know everyone. Good location. As a NEW employee, everything does sound and looks amazing on paper, their words and on the website! A lot of drinking events, every Friday, monthly gatherings. Kitchen with pool table and ps4 games.

Cons

***ADVICE for HR*** – Stop asking your new employees to post their reviews on here. At least give them a few months/to a year to see for themselves what its really like to work for Sprout IT so that their review is genuine! Promising more than what they can actually deliver. Typical politics in the management/senior teams. More than a year ago this place was fantastic however in recent months there has been a HUGE drop of really smart/hardworking employees resigning due to change in management. New employees seem to be leaving within WEEKS of accepting their offer due to lack of training and attention. – **Key skill they lack is people management skills! Staff are not allowed to work from home - even if you have a personal/valid reason. They micromanage their staff. No transparency amongst peers. Never any HR team around. They do not seem to know what they’re doing. NO legit/or hardly any policies are in place therefore, they make them up as they find fit. – NOT professional! They do brilliant at promoting themselves as something they know they are not capable of delivering to their staff. There was a time when sprout use to be a happy place for everyone to work in, it felt more like a team/family until recent management changes took that all away, and with the great number of people leaving who kept that happy vibe, just speaks for itself. I wish them the best during their lowest point and hope that those hardworking and good staff members that are left will find what they deserve.

Thank you for your comments, we truly appreciate feedback and we take all comments on board to improve and move forward as a business. At Sprout IT we set a high standard for ourselves, and we’re so sorry to hear this was not met in your interaction with our business. Having been in the role as Head of People, I can assure you it’ll be out of integrity to ask any employee to review Sprout IT on any platform as we believe on things being organic and every employee should be entitled to their opinion as well as point of view whether positive and negative. One very crucial part of being on this role is the transparency within the management team. Our aim is to maintain our staff informed of what goes on in the business. Within HR, this is handled differently, as expected. Our policies are all on a central location available to all our staff, no exceptions. Our dedication to career growth and progression has been paramount for every employee, as it’s the CPD. We encourage employees to train, shadow and take their skills to the next level while on their role. All new hires have a detailed onboarding including training and expectations. The People department sits right next to the service desk and there is always someone present either at their desk, via email, Teams or a phone call away. All our staff benefit from the highly equipped and helpful staff we have in the department. We will continue to maintain the family spirit by supporting, empowering and living our values. One would appreciate that our values and dedication to our staff’s growth and well-being is and will always be at the heart of what identifies us.
