I have been working at Squiz full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great people doing really clever and valuable stuff. The company has gone through a big transformation over the last few years but I feel like it's a better, even more impressive place as a result. I think the owners really care about the staff and clients and I think they've been smart to keep on adapting because this is a fast moving industry. Squiz isn't a very well known name in the market but I have a feeling it is going to become much more famous over the next couple of years.

    Cons

There is always a lot to do, but if you don't mind being busy then that's cool. Lots of change can be a problem for some people but they tend not to last too long. If you dislike change, Squiz probably isn't the right place for you.

    Pros

Great people to work with in a friendly atmosphere. It is refreshing to work with people who really care about the brand and the customers.

    Cons

Some employee perks now and again would be good.

I have been working at Squiz full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent culture. Full of really great people that are a pleasure to hang out with every day. Given plenty of autonomy in how to work Flexible working hours Awesome shoreditch location.

    Cons

Office needs an uprgrade. It’s a bit tatty Leadership isn’t connected to the people on the front line Pay isn’t great.

I worked at Squiz full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Incredibly great people, and very good client relationships

    Cons

Hard to have faith in all of the different initiatives that happen across the company (and they dont seem to kill bad things fast enough: Funnelback EOM, Squiz Analytics, Squiz CMS etc etc), and in the opposite side of the coin, they strangle office-specific innovation

    Squiz Response

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I agree we have been slow at killing off struggling initiatives. That said, I do think we've improved. The examples you've cited are all projects from a few years ago and some acted as foundations for follow-on steps eg Squiz Analytics ended up being embedded into Matrix and FB got a whole new range of reporting tools. I'm saying this to acknowledge your point, show you that I agree and confirm that we've been doing something about it. Re the disconnect between my views and satellite office operations. Is there any way I can talk to you about it? You have my email address. Would you mind emailing me (anonymously if you wish) and giving me a bit more detail so I can respond and understand your views on how I might be able to improve things. JP

I worked at Squiz for more than a year

    Pros

Some decent benefits - breakfast, soft drinks, beers and social events. Also a health fund to use on whatever you like Still has some great people working there Flexi time, no real overtime

    Cons

    - Product has a very steep learning curve, and after spending months learning it gives little transferable skills - Projects run extremely late and over budget, while teams are often not given info - Management seems to often have little idea of what's going on, and often introduces poorly thought of schemes that don't take off - People constantly leave, management get very agitated if it is mentioned - Salaries are well below market average - Management introduces changes without explaining them properly or making sure it matches people's contract. Example, sick leave was changed and people now have less sick leave and may have to take unpaid leave, but it was never explained - The office is not a comfortable place to work - there's no windows, not enough meeting rooms and the open plan design can be extremely noisy and distracting

    Cons

-Due to the popular nature of the CMS product there is sometimes issues with resource internally to keep up with the demand from clients and perspective clients.

"Great staff. Poor management. Lack of vision and direction. Very high staff turnover."

I worked at Squiz full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good social life and great people Good selection of clients Stepping stone company

    Cons

I think what I am about to say is going to echo what everyone else has said about Squiz (apart from the good reviews written by their HR): - Very poor management - No honesty - A lot of manipulation and favouritism - No flexibility (very rigid unless you're the management's favourite and hard work does not guarantee that position) - A lot of unnecessary internal bureaucracy - No real career opportunities (titles are given out right left and centre just to keep staff in but don't mean anything) - Not much real care for staff - Extremely high staff turnover (a lot of longer serving staff have already left and new staff don't stay much longer than 12 months) - Poor benefits - No clear vision - A lot of talking about making things right and no action
