    I worked at St.George Bank full-time

    Pros

Awesome customer service culture Very thorough training

    Cons

you are treated as just a number going towards closing more and more branches, and that puts a lot of pressure on remaining employees who have to service a bigger number of customers without the bank employing any more help

I have been working at St.George Bank full-time

    Pros

The people and I mean the actual workers at local Executive Manager level and below are some of the best staff I have ever worked with.

    Cons

The Business Banking leadership team and I mean entire team. I have never met a more arrogant team of leaders that micro manage, manage up, focus on the ridiculous and not lead by example. They show a lack of respect the likes I have never seen from leaders such as sitting in meetings more interested in flicking through their phones than on their own staff talking through the business and their concerns. Raising issues are either pushed back down, flipped off as "tough luck you just have to do it" or so heavily filtered on the way up that by the time it gets to where it needs to be the issue seems trivial when in fact it is not. Most of the business banking team think the same however in the current environment are to afraid to speak up concerned about repercussions. The culture has been torn to shreds at the hands of this leadership team.

I worked at St.George Bank for more than 3 years

    Pros

It is an acceptable entry point if someone want to get into the banking sector. I was told that St George Bank was a good bank before it had been merged by Westpac.

    Cons

There is very hardly for professional development as there were very high management and staff turnover. The salary is poor as well and normally it requires to work more than average full time rate.
