I have been working at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You gain experience with the customers You understand product

    Cons

You are not valued You are penalized for being sick You are placed on a point scale like Walmart employees You are treated like adolescents not degree toting adults There’s no growth opportunity. Once you’re a CSR you stay one unless you have a connection with upper management They lie yearly about raises. Instead they cut jobs

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My immediate supervisor was great. Pay was decent as well as the benefits.

    Cons

Manufacturing jobs are being brought to the states again, however because the company over extended themselves buying up all the other brands, they are cutting American customer service reps out and relocating to Columbia. Do NOT apply for a office position here in the states! There will be more cuts. Soon you will not be contacting an English speaking American for any issues. Management up north has favorites, very cut throat to obtain their new job titles, numbers are fudged by the directors and higher up to cover up their messes. How management and the director of Customer Service handled everything in regards to the cut backs was beyond horrible. I accepted my papers and left a couple of weeks later.

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Accumulated 5 Weeks PTO, but you have to be there 20+ years

    Cons

No bonus for you, ever...., No incentive...., No advancement...., Management gets bonuses off your hard work...., Raises are a Joke..., Oh, and Centers are usually understaffed so prepare to multitask. Company does not invest in its employees, they support Nascar and Soccer teams other countries, build the brand I guess.

I have been working at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

there are none except steady income

    Cons

You are overworked and under paid and appreciated. (Pizza, cake and outdated free tools are not appreciation) You get penalized for calling out or leaving early even if it’s an emergency You have to put your vacation time in a year in advance because only 5 people can be off at once and we have 4 customer service locations They have a point scale that is up to 100pts (If you’re late that’s 3pts, if you leave early that’s 5pts, if you call out that’s 10pts) when you reach 100pts you’re fired. You don’t get to participate in company activities because you’re forced to be on the phones (employee discount sale) When it snows you have to come in to work or be penalized with the points or you have to use vacation leave or work overtime to make up or don’t get paid. Cannot check you phone periodically through out the day. Only during breaks and lunch High job turnover (people quit as quick as they are hired) No raises or salary increase Forced to work overtime because we are short staffed and threatened to be penalized if the overtime is not completed. Forced to work in the department for 2yrs before you can transfer out

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working for this high caliber company is exciting. Very good benefits pertaining the tools, also work with a lot of other companies to get discounts. Depending on a manager you can get close and get support.

    Cons

You’ll often get forgotten, not much growth if at all, most of people are here for 5-6 years. After company joined people are saying it is getting worse.

I have been working at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Benefits, Mon-Fri job, paid holidays

    Cons

Office is highly unorganized, office workers where I'm at do not have the best working conditions, it's loud, hard to hear customers over the phone, extremely micro managed. Black and Decker quality has went down tremendously as well as Stanley.
