    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Sounds impressive to say you worked for Stanley Black & Decker worked independently A LOT

    Cons

You're going into Home Depots Driving a lot -- drove over 24,000 miles in 12 months They don't prepare you for what you're getting into, I was told it was a rotational development program when in reality I was just going into Home Depots and making sure displays for their power tools were set correctly.

I have been working at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great pay, nice company vehicle, and solid benefits. You will learn a lot if you put the effort in.

    Cons

If you come in well prepared with the right mindset, this job might be for you. But for most people, that is usually not the case. They are losing tons of incredible talent because this program relies heavily on scare tactics and young managers but corporate seems like a lively place where personalities can thrive.

    Negative Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time

    Pros

    Personally had a great team

    Cons

-Poor management and communication -Did not fully explain the role and expectations well enough before hiring. I was sent on surprise visits sometimes a 6-8 hour drive away with little notice. -They over hired and overpromised. I was suppose to be in a development program with yearly promotions. Many employees in the same entry role were left waiting for 2 years or "promoted" to a position that was actually a demotion.

I worked at Stanley Black & Decker full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Solid starting salary for an entry-level position. Decent 401k match and employee stock purchase program. Company car for $100/month.

    Cons

Only offer cost of living adjustment in LA, NYC, SF, and Honolulu. Terrible bonus structure, only possible in Q2 and Q4, very small bonus as well. Your direct manager is useless and barely trains you but still micromanages you. You work in Home Depot every day. They trick you about how quick progression in the company will be. Would not recommend taking this role unless you want to spend two years working in a home depot

    Pros

Great flexibility, Great company to have on your resume, great training on sales and product, upwards mobility

    Cons

super competitive for promotions, you need to be good at making small achievements sound amazing in order to get attention on chatter, no bonus or commissions so after a while you will lose incentive

    Pros

Great company with fantastic culture. Great benefits, lots of great perks and the company vehicles are top notch. They take great care of us.

    Cons

As with any large, multi-national corporation, communication is sometimes lacking. Other than that, no cons here. Love it.
