Great People, not so great management

    Pros

Fellow Staff Members. Pay is pretty good for hospitality in comparison to other workplaces.

    Cons

Some of middle management are poor at their job, using negative reinforcement as the default in ensuring staff do their work. The strict hierarchy in the organisation makes it near impossible to make any changes to the workplace. Plus shift work... ugh.

    Pros

They have their own workplace culture compare to others hotel that i have been working for, most of the staffs have been working their since grand opening and min 2 yrs at least, staffs are good team members and also good friends. They provide us the good benefits such as free transport to work, free staff meals, free uniforms and laundry, good discounts in their fine dining restaurant). Our hard work is recognised by the annual staff reward.

    Cons

For general workplace, i have no complaints

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for hours when you work at it. Laundered uniform. On shift meals. Internal training. A way to meet a lot of diverse people.

    Cons

Management treat all staff as expendable. Favoritism is huge here and real complaints aren't taken seriously until situations become more serious. Seems the more complaints you get from guests the more successful you are in management. Management bully and the company is blind to it. Expectation on even lower leaders is too high. You are expected to choose work over everything else. Absolutely no compassion.
