I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good career opportunities if you are patient.

    Cons

Average work environment, no investment in training, poor pay, almost always understaffed as no one stays around for long when the competition offers the better packages. The merger with Marriott is slow and frustrating, things seem to take even longer than before. Very little communication and 'people first' was certainly not the case for many Starwood-legacy team members who had to leave whilst the Marriott guys sit comfortably in their chairs. Base lined salaries? Probably never happening.

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts for more than 10 years

    Pros

A great innovative working environment with flexibility and people were empowered to get things done. There as always room to grow. Good management that took care of their people.

    Cons

Once Marriott appeared on the scene all that changed to a strict "old" corporate environment. Keep your head down and just do your job.

I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Good Pay. -Decent Hours. -Non-Mandatory Overtime. -You are able to "E.E" which pretty much is an "Leave With/Without Pay" (Depending if you have PTO) and it does come in handy at time to leave and it wont go against your time.

    Cons

-Back To Back Calls. -Merging over with the Marriott at the moment and its not going so well, to many rumors are spreading and it makes the work environment at the time toxic!
