I have been working at State Street full-time for more than a year

    Pros

401k match up to 6%; flexible work from home policy. It’s possible to have a life outside of work

    Cons

No clear directions. Lots of corporate politics and constant whispers about layoffs. No pay increases and bonuses are laughable.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear about expectations. The corporate politics are outdated and boring.

I have been working at State Street full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some of the most brilliant minds on the planet work here

    Cons

The company has no idea how to keep them working here

    Advice to Management

Enough with the re-orgs that stagnate career development, and enough with slashing bonuses and raises for the rank and file only to keep them coming for senior management

I have been working at State Street full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible working arrangements are the only perks

    Cons

I was recently let go from my current role due to the MAJOR cuts they are doing this year. Jobs from every corner of the company are moving to low cost centers in India, China and Poland. This is State Street's new operating model. The company culture is stuffy and is run by money hungry "leaders". It's been really tough to sit around and watch good people get canned.

    Advice to Management

What is going to be left of your US workforce? Think through the implications of your decisions long term not just effects on your daily stock price.

I have been working at State Street full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Colleagues - there are a lot of good people. Location - Naas, Drogheda and Kilkenny are great locations. Be Well - great effort put in by the few to arrange activities for the many (it's all but disappeared now though because of red tape and people being overworked)

    Cons

Outsourcing - everything possible is being moved to Poland, India and China and all knowledge is being lost. There's little of no control. Colleagues - there are quite a number of arrogant people and unfortunately these tend to be the ones who will advance in the company. Training - it's non-existent Errors - all the outsourcing has led to a massive increase in errors. Pay - its below the market rates Opportunity...

    Advice to Management

Halt the outsourcing until you can get a grip on it. Promote based on experience and talent. Too many good people left in limbo. Pay - match your competitors
